About the Author
Ralph Hood is a pilot, a member of the Alabama Aviation Hall of Fame, and a writer in Erwin, Tennessee. A pilot since the 1960s, Ralph sold and insured aircraft in the 1970s and 1980s, and taught college-level aviation management in the 1980s. He served as National Training Director for the Learn-To-Fly Team in the 1990s, and has written marketing materials for National Air Transportation Association and GamePlan. Ralph was inducted into the Alabama Aviation Hall of Fame in 2003. He writes regularly for Airport Business and “semi-regularly” for other aviation publications. Ralph became a full-time professional public speaker in 1985, eventually earning the designation Certified Speaking Professional from the National Speakers Association. He is past president of the Alabama Speakers Association, and served on the ethics committee of the National Speakers Association. Ralph has entertained, motivated, trained, and taught audiences literally from coast to coast and border to border.
